Back to Basics

"By getting back to basics, we can simplify the open and honest conversation, listen to each other, and work as a cohesive team to accomplish community goals. I want to bring a new voice and ideas to the city's leadership. Lathrup Village is vibrant, and it's a great place to work and live. Let's build on that foundation for current residents and future generations." - Greg

About Greg

As a life-long Michigander and a 17-year resident of Lathrup Village, it is with great enthusiasm that I am asking to work alongside my fellow citizens as a member of Lathrup Village City Council to continue to improve our city and move it forward.

A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, I hold a master's degree in Communications Technology and an undergraduate degree in Communications and Marketing. Over my 25+ year career, I have refined my communications and listening skills and feel I can add a valuable voice to our City Council.

I have a passion for volunteering and networking and am connected with several nonprofit organizations in metro Detroit. I believe we can all make a difference by getting involved. I am a co-founder of the Lathrup Village LGBTQ+ Social group that connects residents who identify as part of that community. Additionally, I created Lathrup Villagers Marketplace for residents. I created these two groups because I saw an opportunity to fulfill specific needs within our community.

Additionally, I am the founder of the Be Kind Project. This project started locally and has rapidly expanded nationwide, which has led us to form a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.

As a participant in several humanitarian aid missions locally, nationally and around the globe, I've logged numerous hours in metro Detroit on various projects, and traveled to Homestead, Florida, in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew to assist with cleanup efforts. Additionally, I spent several weeks in Swaziland (now Eswatini) to cultivate land for never-ending gardens, construct outdoor food shelters, and build/repair elementary schools among the most impoverished areas of Africa.

I live in Lathrup Village with my husband and two dogs, Bentley and Palmer. I know deciding where to live is a big decision. Thank you for choosing to live in our progressive City of Lathrup Village. Also, I know electing members of the City Council is another big decision. Thank you for considering me to represent you at City Hall.

I look forward to meeting you and would be honored to serve our shared community.
